Moline Foundation Funds Habitat House #49

The Moline Foundation will fund $5,000 toward construction of the 49th Habitat for Humanity – Quad Cities home to be built for a partner family by local affiliate volunteers.

Groundbreaking for the home at 430 6th Street in Moline is tentatively scheduled for early summer 2007. Co-sponsors for the project include Quad City Area Realtors Association, Wells Fargo Housing Foundation and the Amy Helpenstell Foundation.

House #49 is the sixth Habitat home to be built in the city of Moline since Habitat for Humanity – Quad Cities was founded in 1993. The Moline Foundation has been serving the needs of the Quad City area since 1953.

Habitat for Humanity – Quad Cities is a nonprofit Christian housing organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing by building simple, decent and affordable housing. “Partner” families purchase these homes with a no-interest mortgage and invest time in the build process. Founded in 1993, HFH-QC has made the dream of home ownership possible for 43 families and will build seven homes in 2007.
