Youth Group Hosts Car Wash for Humanity Kick–off

Quad City area youth are invited to join Our Lady of Victory Youth Ministry in their mission to raise funds and build a Habitat for Humanity home for a Quad City area family in need.

The Car Wash for Humanity Kick-off PAR-TAY starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Parish Center, located at the south end of John F. Kennedy Catholic School at 1627 W. 42nd Street in Davenport. Sam Wagner, OLV youth organizer of last year’s car wash that raised $15,000 toward construction of the Habitat home dedicated for homeowner Seletha Wiggins and her family last December, will open the fundraiser project festivities. Habitat homeowner Linda Creighton will describe her family’s experience with Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities. Quad City area youth will be called to action to support this year’s car wash by raising pledges and participating in the event scheduled for Saturday, June 9th with a rain date of Saturday, June 16th.

Live music will keep the PAR-TAY going and raise awareness for Habitat’s mission to eliminate poverty housing in the Quad Cities by building simple, decent and affordable housing.

For more information, contact Our Lady of Victory Youth Ministry at 391-8384.
