everyone should be safe in their homeHabitat for Humanity Quad Cities, a non-profit organization, believes in building strength, stability, and self-reliance through safe and affordable housing to improve the homes and lives of low-income residents in Scott County Iowa and Rock Island County Illinois.
Applications for home repairs are NOT being accepted at this time. To be considered for the program, you must own and live in your home, meet income level criteria, and have home insurance. This program does not apply to rental properties. The home must be a single-family house. We are not able to work on mobile homes, except for wheelchair ramps. The homeowner(s) must intend to live in the home for at least the next two years. There is an application fee of $15.00 per adult resident and a signed authorization for criminal background check is required on each adult resident. There is a sliding fee based on total household income level and size of project. The program also has a “sweat equity” requirement for hours of work to performed by home residents, family members or friends on a project or some mutually agreeable service work. Homes will be selected on the basis of greatest need, the availability of funding and the ability of our volunteers to accomplish the needed repairs. We are NOT able to do major structural repairs or handle environmental issues such as: roofs, siding, foundations, lead, mold or asbestos.
