ramp building program

everyone should be able to access their home

In 2018, Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities partnered with Rebuilding Together Quad Cities to launch a one of a kind program building handicap accessible ramps for people in need in the Quad Cities area.  This program, while still in its infancy, is already filling a great need in our community.  From aging in place, to individuals with a temporary need for assistance, these modular ramps are constructed in the Habitat warehouse and assembled on location.

To qualify for our ramp program, the applicant must meet the following criteria: resident of Rock Island County or Scott County, own and live in their home, and have current homeowner's insurance. Unfortunately, we are not able to build ramps on rental property. The applicant will also need to meet household income limits which will be determined using HUD guidelines. There must be enough space on the property to construct a safe ramp. This will be determined after the application is accepted and other criteria are met. Lastly, a $15 fee per adult will be required for background checks to complete the qualifying process.

There is a sliding fee for our ramps of $0- $500 based on household income. Monthly payments are accepted. Ramps remain property of Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities and will be harvested for reuse when they are no longer needed.

If you would like an application or more information about how you or someone you know might qualify for a ramp, please contact using the form below or call our office at 563-359-9066.
