Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities is a nonprofit housing organization that has served the local community since 1993. We operate in Scott County, Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois.
Our programs consist of new home construction, Neighborhood Revitalization, home repairs and wheel chair ramps for low income individuals. Habitat brings people together to build, rehabilitate and maintain safe, and affordable homes. We also advocate for fair housing policies. We invite you to join us as we build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. |
cost of home
Today, 1 in 6 families pay half or more of their income on their rent or mortgage, often choosing between paying for housing or nutritious food, reliable transportation, or even life saving medicine. That is unacceptable. Your home shouldn't cost you anywhere near half your paycheck. Home shouldn't cost you your health or your kids' education. When the cost of home is your family's future, the cost is too high and that is something none of us can afford. On June 12, 2019, Habitat for Humanity International is kicking off our Cost of Home advocacy campaign. This effort aims to find solutions and create policies that will allow 10 million individuals to have access to affordable housing. Over the next five years we will be working with our Habitat for Humanity Chapters across the country, our partners, our volunteers, and community members to expand resources for affordable home production, enable equitable access to land, increase inclusive access to credit, develop communities of opportunity.
We invite you to join us in becoming a voice for strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Learn more at by visiting Habitat for Humanity International. |
